3. Silly Needlenose

Needlenose securely fastened the strap around Spinister's wrist, not too tight, not too loose. Done, he beamed at Spinister.

The sniper stared at the decoration and inquired, "What is this?"

Needlenose explained cheerily, "They're jingle bells. Terrans find them popular in the winter months."

Spinister flicked his wrist, sending the myriad of tiny bells jingling. Instead of tearing off the bracelet, as Needlenose expected, he merely looked at the bells thoughtfully.

Needlenose added, tone teasing, "I'll finally be able to keep track of you."

Finally, Spinister commented, "Seems like an amusing exercise. Thanks." He patted Needlenose on the shoulder fondly and swivelled back around in his chair to finish his report.

Quirking an optical ridge, Needlenose demanded, "What do you mean, 'exercise'?"

Three days later, Needlenose was unexpectedly tackled to the floor. Stifling a very un-macho scream, he rolled, throwing his assailant off his back, and groaned. A deeply satisfied Spinister crouched behind him, the jingle bells still firmly attached to his wrist. Waving his arms, Needlenose complained, "Everything is a training opportunity for you, isn't it?"

Spinister stood, to the soft sound of bells, and disagreed, "No. It's just fun, sometimes." He walked away, jingling the whole time.
