Nuka-Cola Quantum Mead
- @slyjinks made meads of all the various Nuka recipes in the Fallout cookbook. I wanted to make Nukashine, so I started with making Nuka-Cola Quantum mead.
- How we made it:
- 2 cups honey (IIRC, I used a Texas tule)
- 8 cups distilled water
- one packet D47 wine yeast, 5 g
- Zest and juice of one lemon
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 2 tablespoons fruit punch
- 2 tablespoon pomegranate juice
- 1 teaspoon citric acid (added at the end)
- 5 drops neon blue food dye
- extra honey (added at the end to sweeten)
- optional: 11 green tea bags
- Followed the steps for mead in The Elder Scrolls cookbook.
- Reactions: Not much of a nose. Not as dry as the meads @slyjinks makes. I did back-add extra honey at the end, but this mead may have benefited from more honey back-added. Very fruity and tart. I made two variants: one with green tea, for caffeine, and one without. The green tea variant is the greener-looking one. I feel it has a faint bitter aftertaste, but the green tea isn’t very noticeable.
- Would we make this again: Probably, if I was going to a post-apocalyptic event, to give to friends.
